James Lee Byars The Golden Tower by Richard Ivey

James Lee Byars The Golden Tower
Venice Biennale 2017

James Lee Byars’s grandest work The Golden Tower has arrived in Venice, and it is safe to say it’s making quite the statement so far. Located right next to the Palazzo Cini, the artwork attracts Biennale 2017 visitors and city wanderers alike. Byars first fantasised about making the luxurious looking piece (which is more than 65 feet tall) back in 1976 and showed it in numerous iterations, yet never before has it been displayed outside in full scale.

Dior Cruise Collection 2018

Dior Cruise Collection 2018

Browns artist T-shirts. London mainstay boutique Browns, established by the formidable Joan Bernstein and husband Sidney in 1970 on South Molton Street, has this season discovered the simple cotton T-shirt as the ideal canvas to displays the work of emerging artists. With ‘Just a T-shirt’, the menswear buying team’s admittedly humbly titled capsule collection of Browns artist T-shirts, the boutique has invited a host of young creatives to collaborate. From his studio in Ontario, Canadian painter and writer Brad Phillips imagined a sombre coloured still life scene, replete with unlit cigarette suspended between Cala Lily and Daisy buds.
