Must watch: AMI Paris Fashion Film. For his Autumn Winter 2017 AMI collection, French designer Alexandre Mattiussi returned to the streets of his hometown Paris for inspiration, looking to the capital’s chic denizens for guidance. Paris has proven fertile ground for Mattiussi’s work and the lasting appeal of AMI – for the brand’s Spring Summer 2018, the designer took a more literal approach, and so the green of the Bois de Boulogne, the greyish blue of Paris’ rooftops and other attractions informed the brand’s collection. Coming full circle, and to celebrate the Autumn Winter 2017 collection’s arrival in store – in London, AMI is stocked at the marque’s own boutique on Mayfair’s Duke Street – Mattiussi took his designs back to the streets of Paris. Photographed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch, whose previous clients include Fendi, Stella McCartney and Diane von Furstenberg, and filmmaker Simon Cahn, the AMI Paris film campaign is an homage to the City of Love and friendships forged on its streets. “I love sitting at a local cafe in the area and just watching the scenes that unfold. If you sit for an hour at my favourite café, and look at the people go by, it’s amazing the types of weird and wonderful things you see”, Mattiussi told us post shoot. ‘So we took this group of young models and just told them to be free in the streets – to play, joke, explore. The shoot was intended to capture very natural moments between them”
