Bally Milan men’s and women’s show will take place in February

Bally the Swiss footwear designer will this season be combining its mens and womens presentations together into a co-ed show at the Milan Women’s Fashion Week in February. The luxury Swiss brand is further shaking up the status quo of the fashion weeks. Perhaps the old days of separate presentations are progressively coming to an end. This season, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and Gucci will all be combining their shows. This is a wholesale change from just a smattering of men’s and women’s looks on their respective catwalks. This is not a new phenomenon in fashion. Burberry, Kenzo, Dsquared2, Bottega Veneta and Tom Ford have already adopted this kind dual showcase for their collections. Bally itself has played with this idea for a while with the inclusion of female pre-collection looks at Milan’s men’s week. However this will be the first time that catwalk will offer both collections at Women’s Fashion Week Milan.

Milan Men’s Fashion Week will take place between January 13th. The shows start with Alessandro Sartori’s first show for  Ermenegildo Zegna since his return and ends on the 17th of January with Giorgio Armani. The schedule is very busy this January with Prada, MSGM, Fendi and Versace all showcasing their mens collections.

The full calendar can be seen on the Milano Moda Uomo site The Camera Moda organisation in charge of Milan Fashion Week has this year enlisted the help of Milan-based agency The Blink Fish to create both its men’s and women’s video campaigns. The men’s fashion film is called ‘Man is Back’ and was styled by Georgia Tal. It even boasts a mock Hollywood blockbuster voice over! Quite funny.
