Corum Matteo Ceccarini: in addition to collaborations with Basketball player Matt Barnes and Parisian photographer Juliette Jourdain (a specialist in surreal self-portraiture), the Neuchâtel Switzerland based watch brand has called upon superstar DJ Matteo Ceccarini to design the face of two timepieces. The Milan based DJ and producer started out playing the Italian city’s nightclubs, and dance floors as far flung as Bali and Paris, in the 1990s; a chance encounter with fashion designer Gianfranco Ferre led to Ceccarini scoring many a fashion show – and party. To date, brands and designers including Vivienne Westwood, Hermes, Christian Dior and Valentino have all recruited the father of one to create soundtracks setting the scene for new collections.

Debuting at Baselworld 2017, 1955 based watchbrand Corum revisits its famous Bubble design with supersized versions of the classic. The Corum Matteo Ceccarini Big Bubble watches come in two styles. Using advanced 3D technology, both Corum Matteo Ceccarini Big Bubble watches place the likenesses of piercing eyes on a numeral-free dial, all kept under a domed sapphire crystal. “Anima means ‘soul’ and it is said that the eyes are the mirror of the soul”, the DJ told us of his choice of all-seeing symbol.
