Celebrating all things Belgian with Delvaux

Belgium. It’s a country that has seemingly hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent years and yet there is so much heritage to celebrate about this corner of Europe so rich medieval history and multi-lingual culture rooted in Flemish, French and Germanic tradition. Then of course there is the fashion: we have Belgium to thank for the Antwerp Six, Martin Margiela, Raf Simons and Olivier Theyskens. Culture-wise, think Tintin, Asterix, Magritte, and a big steaming bowl of moules/frites spring to mind – with a Belgian blonde (bier) of course. Luxury Belgian brand Delvaux is honouring the irreverent avant-garde nature of ‘Belgitude’ with a collection of very special handbags, including one made to look like a bag of fries – Belgian not French bien sure! Also in the range is a waffle design bag, a Magritte blue sky/bowler hat version as well as a ‘dotty’ Anvers piece. See the full range below. Belgian filmmaker and screenwriter Jaco Van Dormael has also made this adorable film as a promotion for the range – celebrating his country of birth with as much surrealism he could pack in to two minutes. We love it!
