Kenzo x Disney’s Jungle Book

Kenzo has launched their new collaboration with Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book, and the timing could not be more perfect. Disney’s remake of Rudyard Kipling’s 1967 classic animated film, The Jungle Book, will be in theatres April 15 – and we assume film-goers will be dressed head-to-toe in Kenzo’s limited edition collection.

Featuring illustrations of motifs from the film The Jungle Book, Kenzo has replaced their signature tiger emblem with The Jungle Book’s tiger, Shere Khan. The men’s and women’s  ready-to-wear is adorned with colourful sketches of the jungle boy Mowgli accompanied by his following of jungle animals, Bagheera the panther, Hathi the elephant, King Louie the orangutang, and Baloo the bear.

“What we found most appealing for this project was to marry strong Jungle Book elements with details that we know as quintessential Kenzo,” said Kenzo Creative Director’s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon. “There’s a way that everything comes together that is slightly familiar but also really fresh and exciting. The silhouettes we chose for the garments and accessories were inspired by the new direction Disney has taken with the live-action movie. There is a slight nod to jungle / safari elements (and even beautiful printed silk shorts directly inspired by Mowgli’s costume).”
