Italian fashion house Max Mara has collaborated with Liu Wei. The Bejing based artist last exhibited during the Aichi Triennale, now his graphic, sometimes visually disorienting work graces eleven Max Mara garments and accessories.

Max Mara Liu Wei:

The Max Mara Liu Wei ‘See no, Buy now’ collection combines the 1951 founded brand’s signature colours and materials, including light camels and opaque black cashmeres and soft wollens with trompe l’oeil prints inspired by cities and urban planning. Wei’s work has long explored lives lived out against concrete jungle, and the Max Mara Liu Wei collection pays homage to the same source of inspiration. A pair of sunglasses uses a multi-layered construction, reminding of Liu Wei’s immersive mixed media installations. Frayed fabrics sit next to chainstitch tracery to resemble the maps and architectural planning of a fictional city.
