One-of-a-Kind Jewellery with Gemfields

New York department store Bergdorf Goodman is celebrating Christmas with added sparkles thanks to  one-off jewellery pieces by various contemporary designers in collaboration with Gemfields. The partnership also marks the reopening of the department store’s newly refurbished 1930’s-inspired jewellery salons, which in turn are part of a “2020 Vision” redesign plan for the rest of the store.

Designers including Ippolita, Verdura and Britain’s Stephen Webster have partnered with the famous coloured-gemstone miner
to create one-off designs with the ethical supplier’s Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds. The collection is full of surprises from delicate minimalist designs, such as pretty rows of shuffled tiny rocks by Kimberley Macdonald to mindboggling structural pieces by YEPREM

“The participating designers were thrilled to work with Gemfields, after seeing the incredible quality of their coloured gemstones,” said Elizabeth von der Goltz, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of fine apparel, designer sportswear and jewellery at Bergdorf Goodman, in a statement. “The jewellery will undoubtedly be spectacular and this collaboration is the perfect way to launch our newly renovated jewellery salon. We plan to transform the 57th Street entrance into a grand gateway, further enhancing the world of jewellery at Bergdorf Goodman.”
