Orlebar Brown enlists Konstantin Kakanias for second collaboration

“I saw Konstantin’s work in the New York Times and loved it – it struck an absolute cord with what Orlebar Brown is all about” says Adam Brown, who founded his London based brand in 2007. Inspired by a trip to Rajasthan, and the at times less then becoming beach get ups of his fellow male travellers, the former photographer created his first line of beach and resort wear. Meticulously tailored to fit just so, Orlebar Brown shorts are intended to look good both in- and by the water. There have been several, highly selected, collaborations since those early days eight years ago; this summer sees Orlebar Brown swimwear join forces with Savile Row stalwart Gieves & Hawkes. Prolific illustrator Konstantin Kakania first added his colourful penwork to the brand’s designs in 2014, this summer marks a welcome return. “I am thrilled to bring this project to life” Brown enthuses. Inspired by the exotic locations we would like to take our Orlebar Brown resort wear to, illustrator Kakania captures serene plant life, sunsets and butterflies in abstract drawings.
